At this meeting the Community voted overwhelmingly to no more shelters but the City contacted others to not support our wishes. Any employees or people, groups or organizations receiving money from the City they strong armed them into not supporting the Community of East Winston. They even told Cleveland Ave. Residents to squash their 100 signature petition and not to show up at the last City Council meeting.

On to the next movement . To correct the years of neglect and abuse of my East Winston Community by the city of Winston Salem.
Like Rev. Barber said Name It (SIN) against the people of East Winston.
Every time we make plans the City of Winston Salem strip the residents of East Winston Dreams & hopes away. We have oodles of plans on the shelves collecting dust. Mismanagement of funds by taking $$s that should come to our Community has always been redirected. We ask that you stop this madness against the very people we fought for today. You are mistreating them also just in another way.

ASKING FOR YOUR HELP

WE ASK THAT YOU STAND WITH EAST WINSTON IN GAINING ECONOMICS IN OUR COMMUNITY.
THE COMMUNITY WORKED HARD FOR YEARS ON AREA PLANS TO BRING POSITIVE INVESTMENTS AND MAKING EAST/NORTHEAST WINSTON A MUCH BETTER PLACE TO LIVE & RAISE A FAMILY & FOR YOU TO VISIT.
NO BIG SECRET THAT WITH AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES ROADBLOCKS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING PUT UP TO SQUASH OUR HOPES & DREAMS OF A BETTER ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR NEIGHBORS.

WHO'S IDEA WAS THIS ANYWAY . NO CIVILITY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION

The REAL Winston Salem



One can only wonder how this all happened when you supposedly have intelligent people in the City and on the Board of this Organization . Until you scratch beneath the surface you realize how deep this situation is. You can't help but think this was an evil Master Plan of someone that wants to stop our community from elevating itself to a sustaining Community. No doubt all the players in this decision was from the very people that are paid to make our lives better but are doing just the opposite. Since the beginning of hearing we wonder how an Organization could get permission from the City of WS Planning Board without the appropriate due process and affording the Community's feedback. Now that they have been given permission by the Winston Salem City Council for an extension to resolve this issue ( appears to be more hostile in takeover rather than finding another location) it seems as they are given instruction to go out into the Community of unknowingly and non participatory Residents in the Area Plan or any other Citizen Advisory groups to get their signatures on what on the surface seems to be a good and humanitarian plan. Now being the day after our Community met with the Salvation Army so much volatility is embedded in my mind. Sad. The people from Salvation Army challenged our first guest speaker which was the City of Winston Salem Police Department. I knew immediately to ask the Police to stay for the rest of the meeting. More on the seemingly Systematic making of another Ferguson-like, Baltimore-like and even Cleveland-like Community. This is more about the Tunnel Vision of the people in Politics, Boards, and Co-partners mentality. Stay tune....
