I'm having a real issue wrapping my head around how 4 white guys voting against 4 other mostly Black and other ethnic groups Communities and forcing them to even more hardship financial decisions. The City has increased the Water Bills, we are paying increases on a City Bond & a County Bond and now they want to fleece the Low Income and people of all Colors for more money for Transaid rather than eliminate the problem that is causing the issue which is a simple solution. However, because their Communities will not be financially burdened they voted against the Citizens of Winston Salem.
If this is not Systematic Racism I don't know what is!
Mind you the Mayor read the sentiments of the one absent member of City Council which was for the good of the People which should've weighed in on the uncaring white men of the Council.
There were Planning meetings that the majority was against the added Services but somehow they started it up anyway. There were plenty of plans that could have allayed the cost overages that they put in place but the White men didn't care to extend the same courtesy that they would've to their own Constituency to make their lives better and uncomplicated.
Keep in mind these white men have Communities that do not totally rely on the WSTA Transaid Services to get to Medical Appointments.
When you read or watch the evidence you can clearly see that Transportation for the least of these was never a priority.
Petitions, Suing the City on behalf of the Poor may be the only options for these people to be able to buy their medicines or make their Doctors Copays and resolve this.
