WHY I POST WHAT I POST

I thought to share this with you because everyone has a base from which they live their life's Journey.
About 30 years ago I laid my eyes on what history pictures spoke of.
I was in my Geriatric Training when I went into the room to find this small framed contorted form of a man lying in the bed that I was assigned.
Of course I was my friendly self introducing myself to him. He would not speak but the look in his eyes was untrusting. I began my duties of turning this frail man to prevent decubitus and this is when I notice his back filled with whelp marks. My coworker had cared for him before and immediately said Oh that's when he was beaten. He moaned as we gently turn him. I ask Do we put something on this? She said naw those are old marks.
So from there on I made it my mission to communicate more with this man in some form. He never talk but he motioned & made many facial & eye movements when he could. He had a room mate and being untrusting he only acknowledge me when we were alone. He died at the age of 108 years old.
I still tear up when I think about what he & others could have been through.
So never never ask me why I post what I post.
Other Seniors like me should tell your the stories for that is our History & Future if we don't take our Rights serious.
