FIRST BLACK WOMAN TO WIN SWIMMING TITLE-(And they say we can’t swim!)

I like this story because in Winston Salem NC the white people became outraged when we began to ask for a swimming pool because we had none in our in Community anymore. We used to have 4 swimming pools when I was young. I did an TV interview and the Racists in Winston Salem commented on the page things like 'let them go swim in the pond with the alligators' and even more horrible things. It was even spoken out of the mouths of people that you wouldn't expect that Black People don't swim. Well I do swim and we will prove you wrong every time you spew your racist remarks. We always come out on top too. *** NEWSONE Article~
Alia Atkinson Makes Swimming History With World Title! Alia Atkinson (pictured) was in total disbelief when it was announced she had won a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke at the World Short Course Championships in Doha, Qatar on Saturday. Atkinson also became the first black woman to win a world title in swimming, according to the BBC. The 25-year-old Jamaican-born swimmer, who placed fourth at the 2012 London Olympics and who had previously won three world short-course silver medals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, tied for the world record with the reigning champ, Ruta Meilutyte from Lithuania. Meilutyte, who lost by a stroke Saturday, led right up until the halfway mark but Atkinson was hot on her trail, snatching victory to win by a tenth in 1:02.36. Meilutyte finished in 1:02.46 and the two women will now share the world record in the race, with the meet record going to Atkinson. Atkinson’s time tied Meilutyte’s world record of 1:02.36, which she won previously in Moscow. The first black woman swimmer to claim a world title victory also accomplished yet another first as the recipient of Jamaica’s first ever gold in world swimming championships. Atkinson’s historic win is reminiscent of Enith Brigitha’s (pictured in water) iconic victory in the 70s. She was the first black athlete to win a swimming medal in the Olympics. As one of Holland’s leading swimmers, the Willemstad, CuraƧao-born Brigitha represented the Netherlands twice at the summer Olympics beginning in 1972. She received two bronze medals at the ’76 summer Montreal games in the women’s 100m and 200m freestyle events. And they say we can’t swim!

JUST SOME OF THE STEREOTYPES I LIKE TO SEE GO AWAY

For so many years we could not get jobs for not conforming to the European dress codes. They have continued to force us to Max Factor our skin to lighter, our hair to straighter and our African attire to their dress style. Just as other cultureS in America we want to dress in our Cultural styles and not to keep chemically altering ourselves to be pleasing to their eyes. We have been socialized to think our natural selves are disgusting that as a child the dirty dozens consists of teasing about peas in the head and being lighter or darker than others. Most of the self hate that Blacks have is the systematic indoctrination of the Anglo Saxions. Olny if you are Famous that they will tolerate a person's uniqueness. I CAN'T BREATHE-LET US LIVE AS WE ARE. YOU NEED TO CONFORM.................

White People Just Don't Get It-Leaders Sets The Tone

Of course in our History we have always had Racism & Murders of our people however we were slowly moving away from a Separatist Society. Frankly I am seriously rethinking of how we would have live longer & possibly better due to the way we migrated here as group of people. But what white people failed to rid themselves of a mentality of "We Can't Let Them Git Too Big For Their Britches" .Also saying they wanted equality but in reality never meant it . Granted there was hanging & murders in the past but what recently has happened over the years is that Ole Hatred come Back to forefront. Oh My,A Black President ???! That just took the cake. And a President that came and showed the American People just how Government was to be for the people & not just some. The moment the Senator McConnell ,The Heritage Foundation and others gathered to plan a strategy to get rid us of America's first Black President they sent an outspoken and profound signal to their people of European persuasion to usurp that hate again they had managed to suppress for awhile. When America began to hear day after day , year after year the insults and mockery of the lowest level that a Civil Society could spew, it resonated strongly to the majority of their peers and they began to act out by doing the same thing their Ancestors did in Hatred. Our Millennials began to see what Anarchy was and how devious minds could lead to Greed & Hate. We have a great deal of corrections to make within our own ranks but more so in the people that got rich stealing everything from the beginning of time. We can't not sit back and allow this behavior to continue. Regardless of what it takes.

Why an Economic Blackout is necessary to end Police Brutality

STOP MAKING THE SAME GOOD INTENTION MISTAKES

My generation grew up hearing our parents saying all the time "We want you to have a better life than we did" but we got it twisted as we became the generation of wanna bees and the ME generation. Yup that's right we began to mimmick our white counterparts but we went broke doing it. Now there is nothing wrong with a child having nice things but to go broke providing a facade is just self defeatus. What we should be doing is to show our children how to manage money and how to obtain wealth so that they are so well off that they can have these things without struggle. We seem to keep going into a downward spiral and at the mercy of our capitalist society. SELF DETERMINATION IS WHAT SHOULD BE EMPHASIZED WITH OUR PEOPLE.
